Home grown May Wedding

Home grown May Wedding

I love a may wedding, there is always an abundance of lovely lush foliage and flowers in the garden, even if not everything you planned is out there always seems to be an alternative.  This weeks wedding was small and easy as the theme was seasonal and multi-coloured, the brides family had successfully grown flowers for the village hall reception, so I had plenty of time to create 6 bouquets and buttonholes.  The bouquets were pink peonies with quicksand roses, handtied but crammed with alchemila mollis, cerinthe, hardy geranium, flowering sage, nepeta, hesperis, eucalyptus, myrtle and phytocarpus' for a hint of dark leaves.  The buttonholes were mini versions of the bouquets plus a touch of lily of the valley, just because it was a shame not to use it.

Post Xmas Paper Work

Happy New Year! January can only mean one thing, paperwork or more over computer work, quoting, emailing, face-booking, tweeting, pinning, planning, updating and downloading. However as it is still pouring with rain  Im not actually that bothered, as my hands haven't quite recovered from all the wreath making before Xmas.

Welcome to my new website!!

After over 2 yrs I have battled with BT, a friend recommended squarespace to me and so far so good, considering Im great with a bouquet and a spade for that matter, when it comes to websites I am lacking, however hope you like the new look alex ball flowers website.

Not only is the website new, but we are also starting to deliver handpicked seasonal bouquets for local delivery , ie 10 mile radius of Rye (TN31 6AJ), that is just to start with hopefully we will be sending by post just as soon as we get the right packaging and courier.

I am also very new to blogging, so you may have to bear with me, I often spend all day in the shed stuffing oasis or in the garden, digging, rotovating, shovelling manure or watering, which gives me plenty of time to think of things to mention, by the time I get indoors my inspiration has flown.

I am going to sign off and go and water the dahlias!
