With a background in horticulture and a husband with a marquee company, the transition to flower arranging was always going to be a simple one, I new all names of flowers already and had a foot in the door when it came to getting the jobs. I spent many an hour reading flower arranging books about what not to do and I am completely self taught. 12 yrs later I'm still at it! Flower arranging came quite naturally to me, as gardener I have designed a lot of borders, combining different plants through colour , structure and texture, in general my designs are very natural and probably influenced by my background in creating beautiful, English borders. After a while I combined growing some flowers to enhance the designs and make them just a little bit unusual, however the growing side of things was taking up too much time so I have kept it to foliage now and buy flowers in from various sources.
Luckily I work from home, in the stunning East Sussex countryside Nr Rye, I have a cutting garden, which is not huge but it is crammed throughout the summer with the most gorgeous flowers and foliage which I dip into, to make my wedding flowers that little bit different and even more natural and seasonal.
